When a Fire breaks out paper will char at a temperature of around 446 °F (230 °C) All “Guardian” File Cabinets have been tested to withstand 1700 °F (927 °C) of external heat for a period of 1 Hour while not allowing the internal temperature of the cabinet to exceed 350 °F (177 °C) which is well below the danger zone for the valuable paper contents of the cabinet. Each drawer is also independently insulated so that if you happen to leave a drawer open the contents of the remaining closed drawers will still be protected from damage.
